Photographer’s Note

Near St. Gallen there's two tall railway bridges close to each other across the Sitter river. This shot was taken from the SBB bridge on the line to Winterthur showing the bridge of Südostbahn on the line towards Herisau. With height of 99 m this bridge is the tallest normal gauge railway bridge in Europe.

The train on the bridge is Voralpen-Express (Pre-Alpine Express), an hourly service between Lucerne and Romanshorn.

View from another angle is here.
