DS Unterwalden is one of the five paddle steamers navigating on Vierwaldstättersee (Lake Lucerne).
It was built in 1902.
Length: 61 m
Width: 13.7 m
Passenger capacity: 800

Unterwalden is also the name of former Swiss canton that consisted of half cantons Obwalden and Nidwalden. It was one of the four forest cantons that the lake Vierwaldstättersee got it's name of.

Arent't these things just lovely, still so many of them plying the Swiss lakes, good PoV for it.

Terve Kari,
It's lovely in colors and has fine details to show, maybe a bit warm in color temperature, was it in the afternoon ? The light tilt makes it dynamic and seems you enjoyed the kaffee fertig ;-)
Have a nice day JY

Another beautiful old lady of this lake, this time in colors, a bit less fascinating but a very good image of amusing holidays, people enjoying the trip and the sun are nice, well seen and done Kari, compliments.
Ciao
Vinicio

Paddle steamers on the lakes recalls childhood holidays on the English Lakes. The angle you used to take the shot works well to convey the motion; the horizon is perfectly level yet the boat has a tilt. Were you on another boat?

Hi Kari,
Great feel of motion captured in this shot at the old steamer tilts slightly toward shore. Very nice soft colors and excellent details to the carvings on this old beauty. Lake George a 50km long lake in NY state has four of these old beauties and every 10 years or so they beckon me back.
Regards, Tom

photo avecune belle netteté, les couleurs orange sont unique. Les montagnes en arrière plan redéfinissent le bateau au niveau dimensions.. Réal.

Beautiful shot Kari. Excellent colors. I am glad to hear hat the tilt was occasioned by the landing manoeuvre and NOT by the guy standing on the bridge at starboard. :~}}
John

Nice framing for this lovely boat kari always nice to see them , well done.
Stefano.

Hi Kari. Wonderful old boat and well captured. I see it is still earning a living also. Good composition giving the shot depth and perspective. Good colour and detail also. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.
