Photographer’s Note
Mount Pilatus and town of Hergiswil shot from a cruise boat on Vierwaldstättersee.
Although it was morning the air was typically hazy for a warm summer day. The landscape had strong blue cast. In order to make it look better I used Cokin 028 (81C) warm up filter in addition to polarizer. In PP levels were adjusted separately for each colour channel. Contrast and saturation boosted a little.

Hi Kari, the Swiss flag is a great element as it completes the RGB here! Very "festive" and very Swiss... :))
Cheers

Hallo Kari!
Great! This eyecatcher flag works in an astonishing way here. The colours of the landscape are natural and I like the many details one can see there. A wonderful view indeed!
Greetings from grey and rainy Germany!

Hey Kari, very nice use of colour in this one with great contrast between the red, green and blue. Very good use of your depth of field with great compostion to pick up on the flag first and then present the background still in good focus. Nice PP. Very nicely done all around.
Thanks, John

Hi Kari,
How Swiss can it get?! Not much more I guess :-). The red and blue off course combine wonderfully. The flag is taking quite some attention but not at all too much, since the landscape in the back is interesting enough to look at. Great composition, well executed. Good work!! Nice

I like the compo with the Swiss flag...I have only some envy for the good weather...since I am scheduled to drive on the Highway (you can see next to the cranes) in 2 weeks!

Hi Kari,
I only have to say that you used those techniques and got an outstanding result. Well done.
The bright flag adds a pretty nice touch of strong colour (by coincidence, I've just wrote a reply about colour!)

Salut Kari! You broke up the haze by adding the flag which I think was a wise decision giving further color and energy. Our summers are very often "hazed-in". A thunder storm sometimes helps to wash it all down :) There is a famous glass blower in Hergiswil. They actually have an outlet ... just in case, if you return, and want to bring home some nice gifts. This is very pretty ... Pilatus has some white now ... winter is not far. Have a good weekend, Barbara.

Hello Kari,
This is a good shot, putting the red flag is the foreground against the deep blue sky and green mountains. Nice shot.

Hello Kari,
a wonderfull view on that mountain. Adding the flag makes this shot something unusual, but not bad.

Kari,
what haze are you talking about? I don't see any haze here!! OK, that must be the solution, warm filter + circular polarizing filter and the haze is gone. I will have to remember this combination next time I'm facing haze.
The composition is great. I love to see Hergiswil and Pilatus in the background. It reminds my solo hiking up there in about 4 hours.

Interesting use of the flag as a foreground to the grand landscape in the back Kari. The right crop to do it this way. interesting result

Terve Kari,
The view looks beautiful and delivers that summer alpine freshness, and we can't hesitate a second about the country where it was shot, given the close focus distance you have good sharpness on all plans.
Have a nice day JY
