Track in the Snow Photo

Photographer’s Note

Parsenn is a skying arena high above Davos. At over 2000m it's quite snow-safe, however it's also quite rocky and therefore many steeper slopes need a lot of snow to open.

This picture was taken 2 years ago from the Weissfluhjoch, the transportation hub of the area where the funicular from Davos and several cablecars meet. It is also the location of the Swiss Federal Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research.

I can also recommend this place to non-skiers (like me), even in the winter! The Weissfluhjoch is reached from Davos by a two-stage funicular ride. From here a cablecar goes further up to the Weissfluh summit. At 2883m it offers great views in all directions (and a pricey gourmet restaurant).

I like the parerell lines of a cable car with wide space below it. Sharp line on the snow is also nice with fine details.

Great shot! I like how the rocky outcroppings on the left of the track balance out the gondola on the right of it. I also like the simplicity of the shot. It also makes me wonder where the heck the photog must have been in order to get this perspective. Very cool.

very nice shot, an empty cabin and Sky line in backgroud. Cabin position is well selected and light is well managed too.

A superb shot showing almost untouched snowy mountain landscape. Lonely gondola is well placed and exposure is perfect.

There is a lot to like in this photograph.
First I like the simplicity of the image. The contrast between the snow and cable car works very well. I also like the diagonal lines of the cable car cables and the veritcal ski tracks in the snow. Really nice work here.

I'm happy to discover some pearls in your gallery, on your last page of upload there are at least 5 ! This one speaks a lot to me, excellent inclusion of this funicalar (not sure of the word ... this blue thing) in a power line, and then this diagonal of "hors piste " is well caught.
Technically nothing to say cause contrasts / colors are very well caught, sharp, excellent job

great settings...the Alps are always worth a cable car ride, especially in the winter, during a clear day with tons of snow below...your perfect compo makes me longing for my next trip...cheers, arturo
