Photographer’s Note
A Seat with a View
Drive back from Obersee, a lake on Oberseealp in the Canton of Glarus, Switzerland, we got lost and unexpectedly found this lookout point overlooking beautiful cities and towns in the valley. I believe the city below is Nafels. It was cloudy earlier in the day, it was just started to clear up, so we sat on that bench and enjoy the view and some nice breeze.
Hope you enjoy it too. Have a great day or night depending on where you are on our beautiful Earth.

Hello,
The bench gives a good foreground to enhance the depth of field.
And the view is not bad at all!
Lovely colours and sharpness

Hi Way,
I have seen a lot of these seats in Swiss and everytime i take a sit and enjoy the view...probably the same as you did here. It's not only an impressive view, but look at the exposure, how bright and clear it is. Rich deep colours, a great sky and some snowpeak mountains....excellent, i like this one a lot.

excellent framing, a very nice composition of bench facing landscape, fine sharpness. I didn't need to read the location, even if there can be similar places in the world, i guessed immediately guessed it was in Switzerland

Lively morning color where the environment still a bit dim, good pov to show the broad landscape and structure of resident quarters saperated at different locations on the plain and on the slope, beautiful background peaks cover with glaciers, nice place for staying and visiting, thanks for sharing.

Hello Way,
I think that you with your splendid camera can take picture with F/16 this for the depth sharpness.
I like your beautiful mountain landscape image.
A well balanced composition and beautiful natural area.

Hello Way! I hope you had some Ovomaltine before hiking to this place, or did you take the car and just had a little break from the driving :)))))))) I prefer Caotina to Ovomaltine but I am not the "milky" type anyway and I need a lot of chocolate so I cannot taste the milk too much (thanks for your note ...). What a view from this bench and you know what: When I saw your picture yesterday it made me shiver, it really did. We had a short message over the cell phone on Sunday and someone we know wrote that his girlfriend had died during the night. The Naefels area is where they both grew up and shared a house and life together, and somehow, when I opend your picture, if felt so strange to see their place and the empty bench. For me it had a double meaning. Oh well, I don't want to spoil this wonderful view, on the other hand this is how life goes, hey. Take care, enjoy the weekend, Barbara.

Hello Way,
Ah, nice one! A bit of a slight haze further away, but that does not make the view any less compelling! I can surely see why they put a bench in that location. Nice!

yes this is a typical scene for most of the swiss Alps. Not just being at some high overview, but also the never missing bench to sit down and suck the landscape in. Marvelous composition with the little bend to the left including the bench.

Way,
that sky, so important, so bright, so beautiful..and so damn good to create this stunning view that you managed to deliver in this great great way. This is high quality standard, a picture which is a pleasure to look at, a picture full of life and perfectly composed; a picture which is an open window to allow us to joyn the stunning view and forget for a moment the english deep grey rainy sky. I like this one a lot, my compliments.
Take care and have a great weekend,

Hello Way!
I only know three countries with this typical view. Austria, maybe southern Germany and of course, Switzerland :)
You had a gerat eye in seeing this and you composed it perfectly with the well placed bench in the foreground and about 1/3 for the sky. This is one of the pictures I like because you can really imagine standing right there (or sitting on the bench), I like this a lot.
Maybe the brown frame is a bit too much, it also would have done with the half size, but I think this is a matter of taste and doesn´t mean too much for the picture.
So well done, Way, again and again.........:)

Hi Way,
You're so lucky to visit the most beautiful
and evocatives places in the world. This view
is absolutely breathtaking! That bench on the
lower left is the best --no VIP sit or table
can bit it.
Splendid colors and composition.

hello Way
The right title!
Nothing beats a view of snow cap mountains and a green valley of Switzerland in photography when you visit this inland country. (except winter ski?)
A great view of the valley from this POV although this altitude is not very high, judging from the size of houses below.
But I throw this question - with only a seat for 4? How long do you wait to get a turn to sit on the bench if there is a large group of people? Not enought seats for sure!

some seat :) you always find these point of view that leave everyone breathless, how do you do that, Way? and on top of that, you get this gorgeous sky, not fair! :) the composition works really well, the bench is just in the right place in the frame to let the viewer appreciate the depth and scale. I like a lot the clean colours, and how the distant snowy peaks of the mountains make everything feel fresh and crisp. I almost wish I was back in Switzerland :) great shot, my compliments.

How did I miss this? Punchy colours throughout which I like, you know I am a big fan of clouds, man send these over to me next time, I love the formations here. The chair invites one to take in this awesome view, you must have been here for a while taking in this in.
The only negative about this capture is the detail, there's too much here too take in ;-)
Top top landscape, id be proud to have this as my own.
