That reminds me ...
Never go fishing with a helicopter.
A great scene.

Hi Kari,
I agree with you it's a very bad day for the cow. This is a surprising shot with excellent timing, really stunning sight. Great premiére once more, Have a nice day

Very unlucky fo the cow. From a more rational point of view, another (unusal) use of the helicopter to get heavy loads out of tricky places...
All the best,
Emmanuel
And you will get no point.

Hello, Kari -
There is a scene in the film "Apocalypse Now" where a helicopter lifts a cow dangling from a harness away from a Vietnamese village. That scene seemed seemed designed to create the feeling of absurdity and strangeness. This evokes the same emotions; sometimes you see things in life that just seem too strange to be real. Glad you posted it -

As long as your are sure it is indeed dead! I could understand the use of the helicopter (With a more humane harness) if the animal needed urgent treatment by the vet, but it does seem an expensive form of transport for meat.

Hello Kari -
Excellent photojournalism image. I am not sure that is the best way to transport the animal regardless whether it is dead of alive.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Kari.
Good photo and good note. The subject is interesting too...
But somehow I have no words for this "scene".
Regards.

It's a bit blurry but hugely interesting, I don't even see a head. Poor thing, at least I hope it was a natural death, though they are sure footed despite their size, if it fell off, it was probably because of failure of the cliff, earth or whatever.

Hi Kari,
well seen and very astonishing. Creates a strange feeling in me. Excellent action shot with a good framing.

Kari,
with a tragical componenet of the shot you still managed to give some humurous aspect by stating that you don't what this to be turned into a rabbit shot. I can't stand seeing that rabbit photo anymore and read all the comments of people thinking that they are giving the biggest wisdom of their life condensed in some lines.
Despite this one here not being very sharp it is a hell of photojournalistic image and with the additional short note it turns into something that is worthwhile to be seen and commented.

Terve!
I think the cow died from some disease like "cow madness" or something else and it so it was necessary to move it to a place where these cows have to be burnt..
Regards, Igor
Hi Kari,
Very good photo (for its subject), whatever happened to the cow.
~~~
In Portugal when a person tells some incredible story, the other persons usually say that Me too, I've seen a pig riding a bike.
Now I can say also: I've seen a cow flying :-)
Just to say that I believe it's OK to shoot this scene (IMO it's a very good shot, by the way), and to share it
