Photographer’s Note

The Hoher Kasten is a peak that can easily be reached by cable car from Brülisau and for that reason it is a popular paragliding starting point.

Here you see a party of two departing on a training flight, in the background the Sämtisersee lake and the main Alpstein block towering on the Säntis with the Antenna.

Besides the mighty beauty of those mountains and the wonderful details of the deep valley, the inclusion of the paraglider was a superb idea with awesome visual results!

The mountains in this part of the world seem very civilized. Lots of houses and buildings everywhere. This is a very nice image showing this exhilarating sport. The view down is breathtaking with all the peaks in the distance. Nice colours and details. Thanks JY.

Salut Jean-Yves,
Très belle image qui a l'avantage de nous proposer un paysage et une action en même temps. Les couleurs sont bien dosées et le cadrage impeccable. Mais je suis quelque pu intrigué par les fils noirs au-dessus des parapentistes ... Si tu as l'occasion de passer vers le col de La Forclaz (Montmin - 74 - Haute-Savoie), il y a un spot sympa.

again a perfect POV. The swiss alps are really fantastic, i should go there more often. Do you hiking when you go there? Or by cableway? I think there are good paths for hiking?

Wow, great shot Jean Yves! Great view down to the lake, and it looks somehow powerful from that point of view! And that paraglider makes it more interesting and attractive. Did you do paragliding too??

Diese Fotoqualität ist kaum zu übertreffen. So etwas nennt man in Österreich "Kaiserwetter". Ein Foto, das man lange betrachtet und in dem man mit den Augen wandert... ein tolles Bild!

Bonjour Jean-Yves,

Je risque de me répéter dans mes commentaires sur tes photos mais comment nier que cette photo est magnifique...
Par-contre, je me sens ridicule à présent avec mes chaussures de ski aux pieds quand je regarde cette photo ! ;-)))
Le POV est parfait et offre une vue splendide sur la vallée, l'altitude est bien rendue, les couleurs sont là, le voile sur les montagnes du fond est très faible et n'altère donc pas du tout la qualité de la photo. Il y a juste un petit truc qui me chiffonne, c'est ce trait qu'on voit au-dessus du parapente.
Ta photo donne très envie de se rendre en ce lieu.

Une discipline dans laquelle il faudra que je me lance un jour ou l'autre ! Les câble du téléphérique sont habilement dissimulé derrière la voile qui attire l'attention dans cette image. Un superbe paysage que tu as su saisir dans le feu de l'action !

je vois que pendant mes vacances tu as repris un rythme soutenu de post et j'ai pas mal de retard, mais j'y arriverai, c'est dommage que bibi ne revienne pas sur sa décision, une image qui me fait rêver et j'aimerai être a la place du mec,(ca va venir j'ai un vol en instance comme le vol en montgolfiere)un sacré payage vu d'en haut certainement déja ton POV en dit long sur la beauté des lieux, beau boulot

Green different from always is interesting. It seems a new-style paraglider hung by the wires. We can see a very slim pin of ten-pin bowling on the distant peak. Very well composed.

Joli cadrage qui nous met a la fois dans l action et nous presente ce beau paysage.
Un tout petit dommage qui vient de la brume de chaleur qui estompe le contraste de l arriere plan. Mais que pouvons nous y faire?

Fantastic moment here, I can only imagine being the person, taking, flying like a bird, exillerating. I would be scare yet, at the same time it must be really a thrill.
