Photographer’s Note

Dear colleagues of the TE, after a break for a month I returned with several pictures.
Starting with this picture did a lift station Schwägalp in canton Säntis.
I hope you like it and will let you decide.
Schwägalp Pass (el. 1278 m.) is a high mountain pass in the Alps between the cantons of St. Gallen and Appenzell Ausserrhoden in Switzerland.
It connects Nesslau-Neu St. Johann in Toggenburg in St. Gallen and Urnäsch in Appenzell Ausserrhoden. It is named after the Schwägalp peak (el. 1360 m.) on the north face of Säntis (el. 2502 m.), which is the starting point of the tram to the top of Säntis. It was built in 1935.The pass road has a maximum grade of 12 percent.
The cable car Schwägalp-Säntis (LSS), operated by the Säntis Schwebebahn AG and briefly as Säntis train, is a mountain in eastern Switzerland. It leads from the Schwägalp at 1360 m above sea level. M. on the Säntis (2501.4 m).

The first cable car from the Schwägalp of Säntis was created from 1933 to 1935, after several projects, the Säntis by Wasserauen or underwater with a cog railway to open up, had failed.
It has a length of 2307 m and overcomes an altitude difference of 1123 m. 1960 the cabins of the funicular is replaced by larger booths. Between 1968 and 1976, the cableway to the Säntis completely rebuilt. In 2000, new cable car cabins purchased.
The LSS is one of the Mountain bestfrequentierten Switzerland.
Säntis (2,502 m) is a mountain in the Alpstein sub-range of the Appenzell Alps in Switzerland. It can be reached by aerial tramway from Schwägalp.
The peak is the highest point of the cantons of Appenzell Innerrhoden and Appenzell Ausserrhoden, and is also shared by the Canton of St. Gallen.
Säntis was also the name of a canton of the Helvetic Republic.
