Star of the Alp Photo

Photographer’s Note

Her period of Glory has now begun, after an early wake up last saturday she has enjoyed a limousine service to the start of the trail where the road ends after Brülisau, and from there she has hiked up to her summer residence after Plattenbödeli near the shores of the Sämtisersee @ 1200m over sea level, there she can sample this flowered grass that will make her milk (and the resulting Appenzellerkäse) unique.

Of course, being the star of the Alp, she also takes time to pose for the numerous passing photographers.

Je crois savoir où tu as puisé l'inspiration pour ton post du jour! ;o)
J'espère qu'il y avait une barrière entre toi et cette top model des Alpes car elle me semble assez balèze, même si elle se plie au jeu de la photo avec beaucoup de grâce. J'aime la manière dont ses deux copines du fond semblent la snober...

un avant goût des pâturages suisses que je m'apprète à retrouver après 3 ans d'absence. Une DOF bien calculée qui isole dans la netteté, la vache du premier plan. On voit bien sa 'cloche' caractéritique.

Elle a tout du top model : pas bien grasse, le regard vide et en train de faire la gueule....je crois qu'elle va aller loin et tu as bien fait d'en tirer le portrait avant qu'elle ne prenne la grosse tête...ou fasse tourner la tête d'un petit taurillon! Top qualité en tout cas pour cette prise de vue.

Une jolie vache suisse avec sa gosse cloche ! Et ces deux congénères qui font contrepoint . Il semble que ce soit une Brune des Alpes . Est ce la race la plus répandue en Appenzell ? Tiens , ça me fait penser qu'il faut que j'achète de ce délicieux fromage .

pas des vaches apparemment, elle te regarde d'un drole d'oeil, mine de tien ton cadrage avec les deux vaches dans le coin en haut a gauche et ce beau spécimen en premier plan est trés bien trouvé, pour moi une photo qui a un petit coté souvenir,(je gardais les vaches quand j'étais jeune en lozére)

The shadow at 7:58 makes the star of the alp stand out clearly, the choice of aperture to feature her is truly great. A subtle bokeh in the background has mellow and rich rendition.

PS: When we stayed in Switzerland we could hear the cow bells ringing in the distance in the middle of the night from our chalet. I really liked it as it was nice to hear.

Elle est costaude! Ah c'est sur, c'est pas une vache indienne ;))
Lumière et expo ont superbement mis en valeur cette belle bête qui semble un poil méfiante et qui se découpe parfaitement bien sur l'herbe. Les couleurs sont top et la note marrante ;)

C'est un "eye contact" bien réussi! Elle est bien coquette ton artiste, avec ses boucles d'oreilles et sa cloche (il me semble que ça va lui déranger de manger ;-)
J'aime le vert tendre de l'herbe avec les petits points jaunes (des pisenlits probablement?).

Seems like all species of cows have one thing in common: The curiosity!
I don't think I ever saw a close-up of a cow where the beast didn't pose nicely, looking into the camera hehehe...
A well composed presentation of this girl, and I notice the huge bell!

Intéressante image de Miss Chocolat avec une mise au point sélective qui l'isole un peu de son groupe.
Rien ne cloche sur l'image sous cette belle luminosité.
