Reaching Aescher Photo

Photographer’s Note

The Berggasthaus Aescher is situated on the same cliff as the Wildkirchli and is a favorite hiking destination in the Alpstein range, I guess these thirsty guys about to reach it would share my mind.

If you happen to get there, don't forget to ask for "Flauder", a local soft drink produced from plants by the "Goba", the company exploiting the mineral spring water of Gontenbad, it's tasty and very refreshing. I probably found even better because due to a close trail I had to hike all the way up from Wasserauen to Ebenalp (800 m elevation difference) and then down to reach the Wildkirchli and Aescher.

Bonjour Jean Yves
Après l'effort ,le réconfort mais il semblerait que cela vaille la peine de grimper ainsi,pas pour ta boisson aux herbes mais surtout pour la vue .Superbes luminosité et couleurs ,bien sûr tu n'as choisi de tee shirts jaunes ...mais bon !!!Vraiment originale cette auberge incrustée dans la paroi,j'espère que la gouttière est assez longue pour ne pas se faire arroser au passage .

Jean Yves, this is about out of a fairy tale I think, a cute little cafe tucked into the rock somewhere up on the cliff, amazing. Great color and detail and a real eye opener, great work.

Hello JY,
quand je vois la couleur de mon ciel aujourd'hui et quand je regarde ta photo, que dis-je tes photos, je suis plus que persuadée que tu les fabriques toi-même... (heu... pas tes photos... quoique si, mais là je parle du ciel...)
Quelle vue.... quelque soit la plante distillée pour le brevage, ça vaut le coup de monter!
ps: mais pourquoi l'as-tu fait par le chemin et pas par les escaliers?

Belle composition avec un partage judicieux de la surface de la photo. De la lumière, des couleurs, de la netteté. J'apprécierais aussi au détour d'un sentier escarpé, découvrir un tel lieu accueillant inespéré et approvisionné en bière. Bravo.

Hallo JY. Ja, wer möchte nicht gerne in diesem Gasthof eine Rast einlegen, um sich vom Aufstieg zu erholen. Eine sehr spezielle Location für diese Hütte, inmitten der grandiosen Bergszenerie. Die Strapazen mit dem steilen Auf- und Abstieg haben sich gelohnt, wenn man sich Deine letzten Fotos so anschaut :)

Looks like the gasthof is pasted in to the wall, what a strange but beautiful effect that gives from this pov.
Bright fresh colours, sky is superb, that mkII has no problems at all with doing this...a very nice one.

impressive shot that take one's the breath away!I like the saturated colours as the earthy alley that lead the eye to the far end of the scene.The wooden construction looks superb and seem to be under the rocks.The walking boys add life in the scenery.Well done.

What a great place is this, you have reminded me of my Swiss trip. I liked the whole composition, the hikers, snow-capped mountains, the hotel. Beautiful colours with perfect contrast and sharpness.

The Appenzell is one of the Swiss Cantons I don't know yet.
Très belle image du refuge appuyé à la falaise surplombante, avec les sommet enneigés au fond.

Détails intéressants, refuge avec une vue à couper le souffle, mais apparemment la rando n'avait pas l'air très sportive! ;-))
Bonne composition en boîtes et un bon contraste, une photo qui donne envie de pouvoir se promener dans les hautes montagnes aussi facilement que de prendre une marche ;-)

C'est rafraichissant pour les yeux(en tous cas pour moi qui n'attends plus que l'arrivée de la mousson-fait chaud et surtout très humide) et ça donne envie de se balader. Je prendrais bien une chambre aussi dans ce chalet bien encastré dans la roche et si près du bord!
Vue imprenable sur les montagnes, sans oublier le ciel bleu qui contraste si bien avec la paroi.

I love this Swiss scenery and these trails and places to stay in the middle of nowhere on top of the mountain. Great view, good depth, wonderful light and great details. Lovely detail to have that little moon in the corner! Excellent work!

Sympathique cette composition. L'utilisation de la falaise et du petit chemin est fort bien vue.
Peut-être un peu cramé sur les plaques de neige au fond ?
Tu as l'air d'avoir des coins sympathiques vers ta nouvelle maison. A quand le PixelDay pour nous faire découvrir tout ça ;-)

Ce bâtiment que l'on voit sur des cartes postales est tout bonnement incroyable. Quelle idée de construire à un endroit pareil ! Dans tout les cas, on peut dire qu'ils ont une vue tout à fait imprenable.

Bonjour, JY. Ton cadrage donne une impression de verticalité avec cette face qui s'élève au-dessus de la Gasthaus. Etonnant de la trouver là, je me demande d'ailleurs si elle est accessible en hiver. Le sentier nous emmène bien dans la photo et la composition est réussie avec les montagnes sur a gauche qui constituent un autre point d'intérêt.

Nice cosy wooden restaurant on top of the rock mountain, a beautiful place with a very good view of such wonderful landscape. I see just young boys in front of you, 800 meters to hike up for the Young's is fine but not for me, no way. Very good shot.

Faut la mériter sa nuit là haut !!! Mais le point de vue doit valoir le coup vu ce magnifique paysage. Une belle lumière et un ciel bleu superbe. L'air frais des montagne ça fait du bien et en plus la lune est venue pointer le bout de son nez, merci Jean-Yves.
