Photographer’s Note

A Swiss cow in the meadows down the Alp
because they all went down two weeks ago
from the high Alps back to the farms in the valley
in the traditional way: in a beautiful colourful procession, dressed up in the traditional Appenzeller way.
I hope to see that also once.
Many native painters make very simplebut beautiful paintings of that feast.

Great use of shallow depth of field here Albrecht, with just enough definition in the background to put the cow into the context of her environment (as if that bell wasn't clue enough).
Maybe slightly more cow would have been in order, but a very well taken image nontheless.

Great composition and moment. Nicely captured cow. :) But don't you think, there is too many of blue colour in the background under the trees?

Hi Albrecht, this is a great photo. A simple image, but treated with great delicacy. It has a chocolate box beauty, and I mean that in the best way. I think the perfect background more than anything makes this photo successful... well done! Regards,

This cow is so funny the way she's looking at you as though out the corner of her eye. It works well with the bokeh of the farm in the background. Pity she isn't purple as she'd make a great add for Milka ;-)
