Dangerous Banking Photo

Photographer’s Note

An image taken this evening in the center of Teufen, apparently it is a simple scene featuring a man withdrawing some money from a bancomat, but to me it's a scandal for two reasons, first this guy is using the services of the Kantonalbank, which is the competition from my point of view, second because we are in Appenzell I can't understand why the St Galler Kantonalbank settled in one of the most beautiful heritage houses in the main street, displaying their ugly green while the Appenzeller Kantonalbank uses such a nice red...

Oh, and why didn't I kill this guy on the spot ? He is German, these guys understand nothing about swiss banking ;-)))

Welcome to the user club of the new 5D MarkII.
A tripod seems having been not used despite the night, no camera shake and no grain are seen. Very nice composition which put the logo and the German person in place in the rule of thirds. Refined management of light.

Je vois que tu es toi aussi passé par la case Banque pour ton nouveau joujou, assez impressionnant le piqué avec ton 24-70, et à 2500 iso ça le fait drôlement bien!!
Comme toi, je dois reconnaitre que ce vert n'est pas très heureux, mais il donne un sacré peps à ta photo!!

Mais que vois-je !!! Tu as fais le pas ! Avant même l'image, j'ai remarqué le type d'appareil que tu as utilisé. Bienvenu au club et profite bien de ton nouvel outil ! Tu verras : C'est que du bonheur !
Je comprends à la limite que la banque achète le bâtiment mais comme tu le dis, on se demande pourquoi ils ne se sont pas plus intégrés ou noyés dans l'architecture historique de cette superbe bâtisse ancienne.

T'énerve pas comme ça, un accident est si vite arrivé! Il faut avouer que cette enseigne très voyante juste en dessous de ces superbes fenêtres anciennes....on aurait pu mieux faire!
5D Mark II....dis donc, c'est toi qui a fait le casse de la banque? A 2500 ISO, il assure pas mal!

belle netteté a cette vitesse sans trépied planqué derriere une voiture comme un voleur non je déconne pixou , pas mal de 5dII

Je vois qu'on teste le nouveau matériel... Cela change la vie, non? Il faut un peu se réhabituer à penser en full size, avec des objectifs qui n'ont plus la même fonction! C'est pas super de retrouver un vrai viseur? Bon, c'est pas demain que l'on pourra lire le code de la carte bancaire du môssieur, même au 200mm...

Dangerous banking sounds more like an aviation term to me. But these days I guess bank business can be dangerous too.
Almost uniform light shows details of this traditional building well. I see that easter is coming too, I wonder what kind of surprises bankers reveal from those eggs.

The building is certainly beautiful and the composition here is quite nice. Maybe this guy didn´t withdraw money, maybe he just installed a skimming equipment. But you are apparently not the only one watching him, the CCTV is directed straight upon him. So if you had in fact killed him on the spot, there would be witnesses...

Holderio rueber ins Appenzellerland! Ja das frage ich mich auch warum diese Banken und McDo's immer ausgerechnet an die schoensten Ecken muessen .. und dann noch so ein doofes St. Galler Gruen. Ein Skandal von a bis z. GRINS. Normalerweise ruft der Heimatschutz aus, aber offenbar siegt auch hier das Geld anstatt. Du meinst also dieser Duetsche kommt nicht druuuus, ich auch immer weniger, investieren wir also in Kameras, neue PCs und viel viel Reisen ... Happy evening, habe schon einen Roten entzapft, das Feuer brennt, die Wolken haengen tief, der Saentis ist eingehuellt ... Barbara alias Miss Unterwasser ... uebrigens gibt es solche Wahlen hier oben und die sind total peinlich ...

Une photographie qui impose le respect par sa qualité. Ce nouveau joujou semble d'une qualité exceptionnelle pour obtenir une telle exemplarité, de quoi envoyer les trépieds dans le monde des objets obsolètes !

Great light management here, even if the light is ugly green! (I think it's a scandal that there are so few successful blendings of old buildings and modern advertising - and this is NOT one of them!)

And you know the guy is German because? No Swiss would use that bank?

Tu as trouvé une façon amusante de montrer la belle architecture de la maison avec ce lumière qui parait ne pas poser aucun problème pour la 5D. En ces temps parler de banques c'est souvent le même que parler des institutions qui ne méritent pas plus respecte que le commun voleur, alors le titre est encore plus intrigant.

ton premier motif je ne l'ai pas compris, mais le deuxiéme est clair, et tu as raison, c'est un vert horrible et tout à fait absurde dans cette jolie maison.
2500 ISO et pas de bruit!!! Eclatant.

such an ugly green light on a nice old Swiss house? How much different it would be with red - though I am not sure whether the inhabitants would really be happy to live in a "red lamp house". Anyway, the house itself is pretty, the quality at ISO 2500 astonishing.
