Another shot from the sunny Sweden in last August, this one was shot at the pleasing end of a very hot day (above +30C) in Ulriksdals Slott (Ulriksdal Palace), a royal palace situated on the banks of Lake Edsviken in the National City Park in Solna, 6 km north of Stockholm. It was originally called Jakobsdal, after its owner Jacob De La Gardie who had it built by architect Hans Jacob Kristler in 1643-1645 as a country retreat. He later passed on to his son, Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie, from whom it was purchased in 1669 by Queen Hedvig Eleonora. The present design is mainly the work of architect Nicodemus Tessin the Elder and dates from the late 17th century.

It was 7:02 pm, as can be seen not only from the exif data but also from the clock on the tower, the sun was low and produced interesting shadow patterns...

Hello Alexander,

The long days of the northern hemisphere are excellen for photography. Very good image with an excellent subject. Good centering with the plant leading the eyes on the foreground. Light and colours are excellent. Thanks for sharing.

Roberto

Hi Alexander,
strong light, good exposure and warm colours let us enjoy this one. It is also a clear one of good sharpness and some textures. The centred view does work in my eyes because of the good shadow space and the plant in front.

Hi Alexander

A superb juxtapositioning of the yellow facade of Ulriksdal Palace against the polarized blue sky. Perfect sharpness & lighting contrasts. Tfs!

Hi Alexander,
I like how you have caught the simple and elegant beauty of this palace in your good setting. Such a low light creates a beautiful game of lightings and shades on this architecture and on the plant placed in FG.
There is a great work in this capture, which has a great quality of image and a few wonderful colors.
A beautiful composition.
Best regards,
Josep

Hi Alexander
Very good symmetry in this shot with good foreground interest. The light is good and the colours which result from this are nice and vivid. Well done.
Best wishes
Mark

Privet Alexander,
The light is wonderful here to allow fir excellent picture quality, deep blue in the sky is superb and contrast against those warm tones as well. Composition is built in the depth with that foreground element that I find a bit too present, did you try to place it more on the side in another view ?
Have a nice week end JY

Dag Alexander,

Prettig weekend,
John.

Hello, Alex -

A lovely shot, well positioned, and gives a perfect sense of the long evening (though I thought at first it was early morning). The shadows on the wall are crisp and wonderful.

Best,
Dan
