Photographer’s Note
Copenhagen by the Sea - or rather Copenhagen beyond the Sea - as these golfers would have seen it over Öresund on a clear day. One of those days, when you can see for ever...
Shot from the Swedish side with a 10x optical zoom (at max) and the distance is around 23kms (14 miles). Actually making it possible to see the bend of the earth - but making it hard to separate specific buildings in Copenhagen.
Some of the wind power turbines placed at sea outside the harbor are easy to identify. I also think I recognize the dome of Marmorkirken [Marble Church] directly left of the hangar-like building. The rest is a mixture of chimneys and churches, water towers and high-rise buildings as in any other cosmopolitan city.
A song about the Great Swedish Gloom contains the following line:
"And on the other side of the Strait, the world commences..."

I like the rythm and balance given to this photo by the power turbines. Sort of lile a repeated line after every stanza in a poem or the chorus of a song.
I like the colors, and the lovely sea.

Very nice composition. The 3 levels of the picture make a good separation. Also the difference in the structure of each third are good. I like also the position of the wind turbine.
Well done Kaj.

This is a real surreal landscape/seascape, too. It seems like a mirage out there at sea. Like Atlantis rising with giant turbines powering the city behind it. It's a neat mix of industry and old city, too, just barely visible out there. And I think it seems to be just slightly over the horizon which really adds to that rising out of the sea feel. The panorama like feel to this is really good, emphasizing the length of the coast. Very impressive, Kaj. And very much more surreal than my corn field.

It looks like a mixture of Paul's midwest windmills with a European metropolis ;-) Interesting to see those layers of grass, water and hazy industrial skyline - a very effective composition that is very well pronounced by your "panoramic" cropping. Nice color setting, a very good shot, Kaj.

I find a nice cooperation between repeated poles in the lower part and repeated windmills in the upper part. They must love Mercedes in Denmark ;o)
