[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello folks.

This photo is from a small village called Pelarne near the city of Vimmerby where the famous author of children books, Astrid Lindgren, was born.
This is the bell tower of the church in Pelarne. The church itself is one of a few, in Sweden, preserved medieval wooden churches and is dated till the late 13th century. Both the bell tower and the church are covered with wooden shingle. Inside the church there are fragments from wall paintings from middle of 14th century.
The link will give you information in the Wikipedia about Astrid Lindgren but has no connection to the church of Pelarne.
In the WS I posted a view of the church.
I found my facts in the Swedish dictionary ’Nationalencyklopedin’.
