Photographer’s Note
While on the same walk as my previous bird picture, this majestic swan swam by with it's wings raised. "Don't mess with me, Just gimmi food!" seems to be what (s)he was saying.
The backlight on the wings was beautiful and I was delighted to take it's picture.

Firstly I think the light are magnificent here, and it's very sharp and detailed. Technically it lacks some things...
It seems to me it should be tilted a bit counter clockwise so the bird doesn't look to be swimming uppwards (?), and the background could be more powerful if it weren't underexposed. It grows a bit too dark where I see some beautiful watermovement.
I think the highlghts could've endured a bit more exposure.
I like the picture, I think it could be solved better technically...!

J'apprécie grandement cet éclairage spot qui donne au cygne un aspect transparent qui contraste parfaitement avec le fond sombre. L'exposition est bien calculée.
I largely appreciate this lighting spot which gives to the swan a transparent aspect which contrasts perfectly with the dark bottom. The exposure is well calculated.

This is perfection!! The light through the wing feathers is exquisite, as is the sharpness of the focus, and the dramatic contrast of the white swan and the inky water. You have now shown us two magnificent images. Thank you, and congratulations.

Un cygne blanc sur fond bleu foncé, il affiche une élégance bien méritée.

Love the way the light shines through the wings here Mattias. It makes them look very angelic. I do wish the head was a bit lighter though, as well as the lower left side of the bird. Anyway, itis a very fine capture, probably one of the best swan pictures i-vw seenin a while. The wings really makes the picture, captured at the right moment.

I can understand your delightment Mattias, this swan is truly a beautiful model with her curves, feathers and ethereal appearance. Great capture! It reminded me actually a bit of one of my first uploads here at TE, a mere attempt to capture the swan's majesty ;-)

This is a truly beautiful animal. I agree with you about the backlight, it really enhances the picture. It's great that the head has a lot of light but not the body, this draws the eye toward face of the animal. I also like the pose of the swan.
I read your updated intro, I guess you're happy with your new camera?
