Contrasts of Gotland
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
One more picture of the amazing light on this small, swedish island.
This was taken on the north coast of Gotland, a calm and warm summerafternoon.
Gotland is often called "the blue Gotland" and this day you could really tell why.
The sky was soft blue and so was the calm sea, just one tone darker than the sky.
I thought theese white-grey limestone beaches and the small fishing houses painted in black tar was a nice contrast to the blue sourroundnings.
Please tell me what you think.

Gotland seems a magical place Frida. Looks isolated and lonely, but steeped in natural history. Excellent composition here and contrast. Well done.

The texture of the wooden buildings and the texture of the stones "speak" to each other in a very beautiful way, and the tonal range from white stone to black wood adds sparkle and graphic quality to the photo, I love the way you let the farther building tone into pure black. I don't think the stick in the left side adds anything to the composition and I would have avoided it if possible. Still a very nice image.
a superb shot, perfect contrast and composition. Love the endlessness expressed through the only-slight contrast between the water and sky. Well seen.
Hi Frida,
(Waiting for your pictures.....)
I found this one and like the contrast
of the houses against the clean scandinavian air and the stony beach.
Like it !
