Photographer’s Note
Lipstick Vertigo
The next photo in my Göteborg-Travelogue is something more different again: Lipstick Vertigo.
The picture was taken from the view point called GötheborgsUtkiken at the top of the office tower Skanskaskrapan.
Skanskaskrapan is located near the guest harbour of Göteborg, Lilla Bommen. The people of Göteborg call this building Läppstiftet (the Lipstick), so this explains the title. It's used as an office building, but on top there's the view point GötheborgsUtkiken that offers a great view over the city. The building is 86 meter high and built around 1990.
More information about the city of Göteborg can be read in my travelogue.
I hope you like this photo!

Excellent subject, and fightening looking PoV. Nice shot, but I think I'd have liked to see more of teh frame filled with the red building.

Hi Lars,
I just wondered how you can find yourself in such a place. Such an exciting POV and I hope you don't feel dizzy. I love this composition and the red stripes are very attractive. The reflections give some interesting illusional space. Very impressive!! All the best.

Hi Lars, I hope there was something holding you up when you took this picture. It looks that it is a scary angle to take this picture. Nice PoV and beautiful view with nice reflections. A very well taken picture with good clarity and nice contrast. Well done.

Hello Lars. A strange angle and a strange colour. It's the type of photo you have to look at for a few minutes to get your head around it. It's something a bit different and I like it.

Hej Lars,
nice shot with an appropiate title and an unusual perspective in some way tilted. I like how you chose to follow the the sloping surface of the building creating a graphic composition. Well seen and done!

Spectacular and well done composition without horizon !
The proportion of the building (red) and the depth alon is a great effect.
This is a good idea to show like this.
A high level composition
compliment for the technic and the beautiful result

Hoi Lars,
Van een groot spectakel gesproken wel dit is absoluut een van die grootte experimenten maar die zeker goed geslaagd is. Goed scherp grote diepte, ja zelf mooie weerspiegelingen in de rame,.
Geslaagd in uw opzet Lars!
Prettig weekend gewenst!

Bonjour Lars
Une architecture avec une présentation très originale.
Cela attire mon regard vers le bas et cela donne une sensation de vertige.
Hello Lars
An architecture with a very original presentation. That attracts my glance downwards and that gives a feeling of giddiness.

Very dizzying point of view Lars. I love how you really captured a feel of not know which way is up or down or left or right. The angle of the building in relation to the ground and even the ground at right and left all seem separate. A few cars also add to the feel and no sky and so much to fill the scene finally adds a touch of dizziness. But so much and it is still well organized with the red facade providing a nice slide into the are below and that area continuing that flow.

The PoV is great to create this feeling of vertigo that you say in the title. You can not be watching a long time without being afraid. I asume also that the people call this building "Läppstiftet" because the color and the probably the shape of the building. Great one.

Een merkwaardig zicht op deze building, mooi de reflecties vande omgeving in het glas van de ramen, mooi strak in beeld met in de diepte nog een beetje een stadszicht.

Hi Lars,
A well composed and well framed shot with great lines and graphics to allure the eye. The two toned colours certainly are effective here. Most enhancing is your POV, as one indeed feels a little vertigo with the sense of height here. Very well done, Lars. Your cropping ensures high impact.

Quite hard to understand the pov... Vertigo is the right name !
I like the colors contrast too : grey vs red/orange.
Well composed.

Hi Lars - I really like the extremely vertiginious angle, the reflection of the city skyline on the glass is interesting, and the thin red frame goes well with the composition.

Hi Lars,
This one was in my mind, last time I made a visit to your gallery. I love the odd angle and the apparently distortion of the building. Now, with your note and your other post that shows this from far, I can understand the title and the strange shape shown here. I love the name, the colours and the detail of the view reflected on the windows. An original one and another interesting piece of architecture.
Congratulations and thanks a lot for sharing!
Have a nice evening,
Ricardo

Lars, le titre est bien choisi, il ne faut pas craindre le vertige pour prendre cette photo. La composition est excellente ainsi que le POV.

Looking in the void below is always more confortable when seating in your chair before your computer. I like the oblical glass surfaces with the red frames and the diffrent refelctions on them.
All the best,
