Photographer’s Note
The 30th of april is one of the biggest holidays in Sweden, especially for student in the major university cities. I was on my way to Malmö from Lund at around 12 pm and the bus was crowded, both with drunk kids making a lot of noise and drunk kids sleeping in their seats. It was a rather amusing experience, except for some testosterone explosions. These two guys were the funniest, totally unaware of what was going on around them, I hope they got off at the right stop.
I didn't crop this at all. I wanted to show the bus environment, but the main subject gets sort of lost, any good ideas? Workshops are welcome. PP was only levels and USM a few times.

You know Simon, I really like it as it is, and the positions of the two nearest us are pretty funny. Appears they'll be gone for awhile yet. I see what you're saying about wanting to bring focus onto them though, so I took you up on the ws, but I'm not sure how well it went.

Hi Simon.
Waouhhhhh perfect b/w.
I like this "strange" composition.
The framing is really good and the POV too.
Very interesting shot.

I like it. I just wish we could see a little bit more of that person on the right and less of blank space on the left because I want to see more of those interesting people here... as simple as that!
Otherwise good job IMHO.

Well, I don’t agree with you when you say that the subject gets lost. In fact when I opened the image my eyes focused immediately in the two sleeping guys at the centre.
The reason is that the dark space at the left “push” our eyes to the right, and the diagonal line in the right “points” to the left. Also the white basket adds a strength element in the centre area and if you look carefully they are framed between two vertical bars.
So this is a very subtle and well composed image and an example on how to break the golden and thirds rule.
Great BW with good contrasts, even if I like the softer version in the WS also.
BTW, why is this holliday so important? What does it commemorate?

Hi,
It's was a really good idea you didn't crop anything.
It's a really great daily life shot and I suppose the B & W choice gives a lot of force to your pic.

I like this one Simon. I've been on transport like this a few times myself and it brought back a few good(?) memories. It's a good scene and I'm glad it doesn't focus too much on any individual. Works well in B&W.

This is a wonderfully chaotic shot. I actually like how you get a glimpse of the sleeping world outside the bus and then the crazy atmosphere in the bus. These two in front seem caught in the middle. My only criticism is, what holiday is it? Why are all these people on the bus together? Nice picture though.
