The Guy on the bench ... Photo

Photographer’s Note

That day the sun was back, and the light interesting. I waited for that those last 2 weeks to go again to Skogskyrkogården, a cemetery south of Stockholm. I wanted a picture similar to my first one, but under the snow.

I was walking around in the city, and some clouds began to be dangerous for the light... So, no Skogskyrkogården... But here is Maria Magdalena's church.

I liked the tombs under the snow, the sunny weather on the church and that guy, sitting there on a bench, lost in his thoughts, despide the cold... What was he thinking about ? Was one of those tombs one of his relatives ? Was he just enjoying the quiteness and the sun ?

I don't know... I didn't want to ask him... I didn't want to disturb anything... 20 minuts later, he was still there....

Very nice picture of this church! It has a nice colour which contrasts well with the blue sky and snow...and I also like the framing of the branches around the tower!

Photo tres agréable car tres bien composée. les couleurs en rajoutent en tranquilité et quiétude.
tres belle lumiere. la présence restera donc un mystère et c'est presque mieux ainsi.

A beautiful winter scene from the churchyard, Youssef. You did a good job framing this one, with the colorful church tower making a precise appearance in between the barren trees. The winter light is beautifully rendered and accentuates the snowy ambience of the park nicely. And of course the single person sitting on the bench adds a fine story-telling element to your photo.

C'est une belle composition, Youssef, d'une grande douceur. J'aime que vous n'ayez pas privilégié l'église (pourtant fort jolie), pour montrer les alentours, et particulièrement cet homme au banc, puisqu'il vous a marqué.
Je dois dire aussi que, même si on est tous là autour de la photographie, j'apprécie lorsqu'une note comme la vôtre ajoute une "histoire". Bien sûr, on n'a pas toujours forcément des tonnes de choses à raconter. Mais savoir ce qui s'est passé dans la tête du photographe pour qu'il prenne cette photo, ça m'intéresse toujours.

Ah, quand la neige et le soleil sont présents en même temps, cela peut faire d'excellentes photos! J'aime bien la composition de l'image avec cette église située sur une ligne forte et un arbre qui comble très bien le ciel. Bravo!

Très bel ensemble.La luminosité est excellente ce qui donne un très beau contraste.L'homme assis ajoute un élément de calme et de sérénité à l'ensemble qui est bien structuré.Bravo.

Jolie composition Youssef, j'aime bien ce cadrage, et la présence humaine sur le banc. Le tout est bien net et très justement exposé malgré les conditions difficiles. Belle note également.

Merci pour tes gentils commentaire, c'est une belle eglise que tu nous as mis la ! tu l'as parfaitement placée et j'aime bien ton point de vue avec les branches des arbres au premier plan, j'ai l'impression que la photo a perdu un peu de netteté, mais c'est du a la compression...

je n'ose imagine le climat a Sockholm en ce moment brrrr...

Did you just move to Stockholm? It is a great city, isn't? I have just been there and I stayed very close to this church. I also made a photo of the church, but I stood a bit more to the left, but I also had a nice blue sky and some snow. But on my photo, there is a couple walking.

Nice photo wich good bright colours and sharpness. I like the shadows and the line on the snow, alltogheter, it gives the photo very good contrasts.

Une histoire et la photo prend tout de suite une autre dimension, ce n'est plus une vue impersonnelle d'une église en Suède, c'est toute une atmosphère de film dont la scène de générique se déroule ici, devant cette superbe église très colorée. Très belle mise en scène, qui nous permet d'écrire notre petit scénario personnel, merci Youssef.

Cette photo est vraiment tres belle, et je ne crois mêne pas que l'on pourrait faire mieux. Tous les
élements sont bien placés et que dire de la lumiere ?
Je voudrais la passer parmi mes favorites.
