Photographer’s Note

This is Sankt Jacobs kyrka (Saint James's Church) in central Stockholm dedicated to the patron saint of travellers. It situated at the edge of the the park Kungsträdgården and next to the Royal Opera. It origin dates back to a chapel in the 14th century. For defensive purposes it was teared down in the 1520ies by King Gustav Wasa but in the 1580 it was rebuilt by his son King Johan III. The church has been restored and changed many times since then. It got its present look in the firs half of the 20th century.

Hej Ulf,
That was a great day for taking pictures. You manage to make all these famous Stockholm buildings shine like never before against the blue sky from you low POV. I appreciate that you just cut off the street with its cars and other ugly details.

Marvellous colours in a very attractive combination. But more than just the colours catch my eye here, the composition is also well balanced, letting the tower rest on a fine diagonal line!

Hei Ulf,

This massive piece of architecture stands well on the pale blue autumn sky!
I too remember the autumn of '07 as fine weather wise, unlike this terrible year...
The sun makes the rusty colour of the building really sparkle..!

Hello Ulf,
not only the colour but also the architecture is curious: mainly Renaissance but with a touch of Gothic and the whole in a moderate, Scandinavian style. The clear blue sky gives a more than optimal background.
