Photographer’s Note
I took this photo in the inner yard of Gripsholms Castle.
It's not high season now, so there are not many people around. Anyway I spotted that couple with two kids sitting on a bench and enjoying the autumnal sun :)
The present castle was built by Henrik van Göllen between 1537 and 1544 for Gustavus Vasa.
Its last occupant, 1864, was King Carl XV. Gripsholm featured in Swedish history on several occasions, and was also used as a prison. In 1809 Gustavus IV Adolphus was compelled to abdicate here.
Nowadays, the castle houses the National Portrait Gallery as well as an exquisite 18th century theatre.
The bottom of the photo is darker in the original photo, and I made it a little lighter. The dhadows were very dark and the contrast light was very strong.

Hejsan Marina,
I see strong effect of "geometry" in this photo - which makes it a special view. I wonder what a panoramic photo would look like?? to make it a bit wider... but probably it would depend on the lighting consitions and position of the sun!
I like that couple with children sittin' on the bench and, probably, wondering what you were taking a photo of ;) You were the only photographer there on that day?
In any case, I love the rich natural colorus and the game of light and shadows which makes the scene more lively :)
wishing you all the best,
Elena
