Photographer’s Note
Yes, the winter is back! So much better than the grey of late autumn. Snow is important to reflect the little light we get on this latitude this time of year. A few cold days also lets some ice form in sheleterd places along the river. So it is time to post more shots in my old ice theme.
I could have said that this was taken on the short approach to any airfield in northern Norway but I will be honest today. It is just a small rock slope peninsula reaching about half a meter over the water.

The ice and the snow on the hills are very nice, especially in combination with the light. Well done!

Nicely textured snow & ice. Yes, you've captured the start of winter. The dark surrounding water also makes the pix.

Great contrast of the water in front and the snowy rock with good light. I like the contrast fading down a bit to the background. Well done in b&w.

Hi Ebbe, on first sight this indeed seems like an aeral picture but the texture of the snow and the wavelets give the plot away. The snow is very well rendered, but you showed earlier that you can handele this effortlesly. BW is a good choice for this very sharp and very well composed picture. Excellent work!

For sure this could be an island at Lofoten, Ebbe, or somewhere in Newfoundland, Canada. It's easy to lie with a photo, especially if you add an informative note too... ;o) But I guess we see (in all honesty) a snowy rock in Dalälven and the return of Winter to Borlänge. B&W works well with these kind of pictures. Both 'colors' mediate a lot of cold feel - white in snow and ice, but also reflection of the weak sunlight in the dark rock and the cold black water. We have fog, so lucky you. Well done!

Very nice contrast and sharpness. I like this one in B/W, but do not forget to share with us again some "golden" ice shots.. ;-)
