Photographer’s Note

This shot was taken in Skansen - right above the main entrance.
I don't know why but it was difficult for me to find the right POV to take this shot... maybe because of too much greenery around? :)

Anyway, this is a photo for your good mood - especially for those to whom I am very grateful for their useful critiques!

PP work: very slight correction of lens distortion; sharpening. No colour adjustment.

Hi Elena,
Yes indeed! Some red elements can do a lot to a picture! But this is also a well composed photo, where a diagonal of trees moves across the motive from lower right to upper left. In this diagonal line you have also attractively included the fence, the the house (another red element) and the clouds. A lot of summer feelings here!

I would call this Malaysia with the evergreen color and bright sunshine day of blue sky and white clouds. And I cannot find anything wrong with the POV either, the more trees and green, the better!

The red flowers and red roof help to make it a little less-Malaysian especially style of the roof shape with a chimney.

I like the composed view but never can realize this is the museum and zoological park without your good note. Thank you for posting this one.

There is a very nice summery feeling to this picture. I very much like this composition with opposing diagonal lines of flowers and trees and the fine roof of the old building just visible among the trees. Excellent colours and sharpness.

I think that the pov is well chosen: the resulting composition is well balanced with the row of trees pointing to the right and the guardrail pointing left. I did'nt have to chance to go to Skansen and it's a real pleasure to see it here with a summer mood. All the colours are wonderful and make the whole picture very lively. Very pleasurable the cromatic contrast between the intense blue sky, the greenery and the red flowers.

Hej Elena,
Your photos of MY country Sweden is really on the sunny side of life,
just a thought ! How much do we project our imaginary point of view on the real subject
and what's the visibility on the photo. mimy photos of the same subjects seems much more
melancholic then yours and that fascinates me.
If you had the opportunity I would warmly recommend you to here now when the whole
city is start blooming :)

Technically excellent, (the exposure is superb) and most appealing in terms of northern summertime atmosphere.

dear Elena,
lined round trees are interesting and look so cubic.
those are nicely contrasted with the white cotton shape cloud in the blue sky and also fore red flowers on the fence. whole image is picturesque, it reminds me of some paintings of Pablo Picasso in his cubism.
1891 is a little early to cubism starting(1907), but maybe Arthur Hazelius was influenced the air of cubism in that time...

A lovely summer mood in this photo! I like your POV and composition, with diagonals in opposite directions. Excellent control of light and very beautiful colours with good saturation and clarity. Skansen is one place to visit next time, when I travel to Stockholm. ;-)

Hello Elena,

You may have struggled to find the correct pov but your instinct has taken you to a good one.
The red, in the f/g, is very attractive and, positioned on a good diagonal line created by the fence. The red house in the b/g ensures that the viewer scrutinises much deeper.
A fresh, open scene rekindling summer memories.

Hej Elena,
Skansen is an oasis for many people in Stockolm, including myself. I like very much to walk in this beautiful open-air museum, while thinking that I'm in the middle of a big city.
Very sharp and clear photo with great natural colors. I agree,
sometimes it`s hard to find the best Pov, but i like your choice.

A lovely colour palette, dominated by blue and green but the dots of red makes the picture complete...
