Photographer’s Note
This is another picture from the Stortorget (the Large Square) in the Old Town of Stockholm. The green building to the left was built in 1758 but is standing on a medieval foundation. Like in many buildings around the square there is a restarant and bar at the bottom floor. The other two buildings are Schantzska huset (the Schantz house) which is actually two buildings that merged into one in the 17th century. The buildings are name after Johan Eberhard Schantz who built them in 1650 in German-Dutch renaissance style. Schantz was the secretary of the king Charles X Gustavus. Part of the interior still reflects the luxury life of a royal secretary in those days. The white stones (there are 82 of them) on the façade of the red house is said to symbolize the heads decapitated by the Danish king – Christian II in 1520. This event took place in Stortorget after an invasion of Sweden by Danish forces under the command of Christian II. It is known as the Stockholm Blood bath or the Stockholm massacre. Around 80-90 people of the nobility and clergy supporting the Sture party were executed. In Sweden Christian II is also known as Christan the Tyrant.

Hej Ulf,
A beautiful blue hour photo from these very photogenic old houses along Stortorget square. In last June the green house was under repair and covered by shields. The architecture is indeed very attractive, in all of the houses. You have controlled the light well. I like your original more than the workshop, because yours has the lovely mood. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Ulf.
Great blue hour shot. Perfect long exposure (with some vanishing human figures).
The foreground item gives depth.
Best regards.
Bobo.

Hej Ulf,
This is really a picture of the blue hour when all the restaurants start their business for the night. A very interesting scenery, unfortunately I haven´t been there for many years. Isn´t this also where a cannonball is stuck in the corner somewhere?

Hello Ulf,
Very good light management. The red and yellow tones of the façades together with the blue and yellow windows create a charming atmosphere on this probably very pleasant square. Excellent presentation of the interesting architecture.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ulf,
the diferrent lighting gives to certain extent different character the place and houses - or at least a different atmosphere. Now I feel them more lovely, more familiar, more friendly - while as interesting as on the former photo.
Best whishes
Laszlo
