Photographer’s Note
Over a field outside of Hallstahammar, seven swans ascend towards the sky to fly south. Or?
No, they are souls, ascending to Heaven. Made of plowshares, painted white. The field is at Västerkvarn between Kolbäck and Strömsholm.
The Finnish artist Juha Vanhanen, once a resident of Hallstahammar, offered the art work to the town for free. A christian, self-taught artist, he wants to give art to people "where there is a need for it".
A similar installation can be found at the Finnish center for folklore art at Kaustinen.
