Photographer’s Note
This is one of my newly found negatives. I don´t remember exactly when it was taken, but I have some reasons to believe it was 1961, and it looks like January. I had already left home and was living in Gothenburg, but I must have paid a visit to Koppom and my parents and younger brother, who still lived here.
This photo is taken from the house we lived, and the river below is of course the famous Köla River, seen in many pictures here on TE.
Across the river is a big light house (it was in fact yellow) and that was the elementary school at Koppom, where I started in August 1948 and left in June 1950, i.e. my first two school years. This school was closed in the beginning of the sixties when a new school was built. The building was rented to a furniture salesman, who had his warehouse there. Unfortunately the building burned shortly after that. He must have had a good insurance...

Hej Gunnar,
Old photos always have their charm, although bringing them into digital form requires some extra work. This has preserved quite well and compositionwise it is good with several diagonals. The snowy trees on the right are beautiful in B&W. There is a slight pink colour cast as a scanning residual (?). Also I would add a little more contrast. A matter of taste of course :-)

This really takes me back in time as it reminds me of the hill I use to tobaggan on as a kid. Very beautiful trees. Nice pov and I like the tones and textures very much. TFS

Hello Gunnar,
A good composition of these snow sprinkled trees. Interesting point of view looking down the hill towards the river.

Hej Gunnar,
I have a certain weakness for BW documents from the 60's probably of nostalgic reasons, You should next time you pass this exact spot take a new photo to sooth my and others curiosity. i really like to see how things changes , it gives a nice perspective on the life it self.

Hej Gunnar,
An interesting historical document. I think this view looks quite different today. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your mysteriously rediscovered old negatives.

Hej Gunnar,
En bild som är påtagligt präglad av nostalgi, kanske hemlängtan också, vad vet jag. En tämligen bra bild.

Hello Gunnar,
very crisp "frosty" photo; very good composition!
Sometimes winter time seems totally black & white to me, as I don't quite like winter because of the cold and frosts... this photo returns me back to my very early childhood: it reminds me of similar landscapes near my home where I was born.
I agree with Lasse: there's a pink tint in the photo... was it meant to be so? :)
best regards,
Elena
