More Country And Western Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is still country, and in the western part of Sweden, close to the Norwegian border.

The lake is Björkelången, a part of the Köla River system. This is also a very popular canoe hiking routes, starting at Skillingsfors, or maybe even in Norway. You could in theory paddle down to Gothenburg if you wish.

Most tourist just go as far as Arvika.

Hi Gunnar, Beautiful summer Swedish landscape. Very nice composition, with the lake with boat, red houses, forest. Splendid calmness. fantastic colours and sharpness. I was probably somewhere nearby but i do not remember.

Hej Gunnar,
despite the fact that this photo was taken close to the Norwegian border, this scene makes me remember my travelling about Dalarna. This is the first thought that came to my mind when I saw this photo :) But unfortunately I was not as lucky with the weather as you: it rained all the time!

Very lovely view, very beautiful summer colours! It is a pleasure to look at such a landscape now while it is still cold and there is still snow around.

Bonjour Gunnar,
beaucoup de verdure en Suède. La palette de verts fait d'ailleurs le charme de cette photo qui représente un endroit très calme où j'aimerais vivre pour échapper au tumulte des villes.
Le plan d'eau fait tout son effet.

What a beautiful lake in this lovely place. They seem to like red painted buildings in that part of the world, perhaps because it is close to Norway? But maybe it's a Swedish custom also. I like the several layers of texture, colour and light in this one. And beautiful reflection of course. The clarity is wonderful, and makes me think the air must be very healthy in this place. Nice shot and good title!

I admire the location of the farm, by the rim of the forest and overlooking this nice lake...
