These buildings used to be harbour store houses. Now they have been converted into art galleries, tourist gift shops and cafés.

Arvika is a very small town, close to the Norwegian border.

Hej Gunnar
I always liked in Sweden such big red building. One of my friend who lives out of town and has three big saray. In one, he keeps the horses in another old car and the third everything. You can find everything.
Good job. Good light and color as well as a small tree decorated with beautiful flowers.

harbour store houses? the same as in Stockholm...!
As I always say, this combination of colours (red and white) never fails :)
The buildings are not architectural chefs-d'oeuvre, but I think in this case it is the mood of the bright sunny summer day that matters!

Hi Gunnar, Nice houses in red. Interesting white strips. One can see still that it was store house - there is something under the roof to take ware. Pleasant lazy summer atmosphere. Nice flowers.

Hello Gunnar,
Always good to see these sort of buildings retained and put to another use rather being torn down in the name of progress. The rich reds of the timber make a fine contrast with the blue sky and I like the inclusion of the colourful little bush on the right. Wonderful sharpness.

Did you know that the guide-book Lonely Planet has named Arvika as the worst place in Sweden? Maybe they didn't see these quite fine old buildings, or maybe some picturesque art galleries weren't enough to compensate for the utter dullness of the rest of the town.
Ni hade i alla fall tur med vädret.

cela m'a l'air de bâtiments très typiques, surtout par leur couleur. Une photo bien éclairée qui montre chaque détail et notamment que cet endrtoit est très propre et bien entretenu.
