Photographer’s Note

Karlstad is a city in Värmland, Sweden. Karlstad is built on the river delta where Sweden's longest river, Klarälven, runs into Sweden's largest lake, Vänern. It has the second largest lake port in the country after Västerås.

Karlstad is often associated with sunshine and the symbol for Karlstad is a happy sun. Karlstad is reputed to be one of the sunniest towns in Sweden and a local waitress, known as "Sola i Karlstad" (Sun in Karlstad) for her sunny disposition is also commemorated with a statue.

Sweden´s longest stone arch bridge can be found in Karlstad. The bridge was built 1761-1811 and is 168 meters long.

Hello Malgorzata,
Really good composition, just enough of the bridge to balance the shot.
I love the warm saturated colours of the houses and their reflection in the water.
Hard to beat that late light.

Lustro wody prawie niezm±cone wyglada tutaj bardzo tajemniczo. ¦wietnie prezentuja sie g³ebokie odbicia w tej nieruchomej wodzie - tutaj realny ¶wiat odnajduje swojego sobowtóra. Bardzo korzystnie zagra³y tutaj kontrasty w ¶wiat³ach. Tytu³ sugerowa³ nieco wiecej kamienia z tego mostu, ale w koñcu nie chodzi o dos³owno¶æ. Dobre i nastrojowe w bardzo ³adnym wykonaniu.

Hello Malgorzata,
There is a very good depth of colour in the reflections, and the orange and blue colours look good together. Nice clear details also.
I like the note about the statue of the 'sunny' waitress - how lovely to be remembered for being such a happy person.
