This foto was taken from Kungsholmen in Stockholm, at the City halls' terrace on a cold winter evening. The buildings on the other side of the water/ice are in the Riddarholmen-island.
There was a statue that seemed to observe the frozen city from her pedestal. I thought it was a beautiful, yet somewhat a sad scene.

mmm, yes, a lovely scene and great composition. it does seem very sad doesn't it? of course, there's nothing like the joy one feels in Stockholm when spring does arrive and the city begins to thaw!

Beautiful frozen landscape. Very good composition, with the vertical ones of the towers and the statue in front of the set, as if she was contemplating it.
Nice and cold colors, soft lighting, and beautiful reflexes in the water.

Très belle composition pour suggérer que cette belle naïade va peut être faire trempette dans cette étendue d'eau....qui semble un peu fraiche toutefois! Très belle lumière

Hi Peter, Wonderfull photo of the old city of Stockholm, full of the atmosphere of the evening swedish spleen. Thanks for sharing

Nice shot of the city. I like that you chose to include the statue in the scene. The colours are subtle yet effective. It's good that there was some open water creating a shimmering reflection. Well done Peter.

A real postcard picture from Stockholm. Fine compo with the statue on the side. Having her in the foreground gives a deeper perspective and she also takes the place of the often used human viewer, the classical thing in landscapes. Very fine winter light and reflections.

I looked at this shot the other day but forgot to come back and critic it. I actually love the light in this shot. The light, the still reflections and the frozen landscape give a sense of calm. I also like the use of the statue in the foreground. Nice work.

Wonderful and clear view of Gamla Stan. The place of the statue in the composition is very good and I also like the reflection in the unfrozen part of the water. Well captured and thanks for sharing this view on Stockholm!

Very good image, Peter. I like compositions like this that have both foreground interest and background interest, and with a sort of connection between them (in this case the statue 'looking' at the buildings on Riddarholmen island). The reflections on the icy water are an added bonus. Excellent exposure, DOF and sharpness. Cheers . . . David.

Très belle lumière qui participe pleinement à la composition en contribuant à l'austérité de la scène.
A bientôt sur TE pour de nouvelles aventures.
