Photographer’s Note

Stockholm City Hall is situated upon Riddarfjärden, a bay of Lake Mälaren. The building stands on the easten tip of Kungsholmen, a rather large island in Stockholm. It houses the Municipal Council. The Nobel Prize banquet takes place here. The achitect’s name is Ragnar Östberg. The construction started in 1911 and took 12 years and almost 8 million bricks were used. The cost of construction was 18 million Swedish Crowns an enormous amount in those days. It was inaugurated on 23 June 1923. The height of the highest tower is 106 meters.
