Waiting for Godot Photo

Photographer’s Note

One of the city daily life moments... without any comments on my part.
Taken from the distance - from the opposite side of the road, late in the afternoon.

The building in the BG is Kulturhuset (The House of Culture) which is a cultural centre to the south of Sergels Torg in the city centre. It was opened in 1974.

Hi Elena.
Great graphical capture, with good colour and sharpness. Well timed too, with the group in the foreground looking as though they are doing just that, waiting for Godot. Perhaps the other people are doing the same thing. Lots of perpendicular lines and some bright colours make the photo interesting. Nice work.

Quite a lot of written information in this picture! I am also quite surprised to see that most of it is actually in Swedish! A very good capture of daily life in a big city.

Hello Elena,
A surprisingly colourful picture from the dull and drab Sergels torg. You also found a remarkable maze of vertical and horisontal lines. And I do wonder what the people in the foreground are waiting for. I doubt that they know Godot.
I also find it a bit amusing how you have very neatly and well balanced cut off the word (St)adsteatern ;-)

Hej Elena,
Its difficult to make this kind of shot harmonic with all the different lines. The text mass in the windows gives a feeling of a gigantic notice board.

This scene is full of wording, horizontal lines, reflecting glass, shop interiors and people relaxing. No one seems to be in a hurry - perhaps they are all waiting for Godot! Quite a different photo full of detail. Well seen. Tfs, Marlene

A very well composed shot full of colour and busy activity!
Sharply focussed and detailed.
There is so much to digest, here, but I particulalrly like the extra details of the reflected buildings, visible in the windows.

dear Elena,
lots of various letters are watching them and us.
this world is standing by the letters indeed, like this shot.
this directly reminds me of the scene in The Matrix...
the letters are also paintings, designed objects like this shot too.
and people are also paintings like letters in this shot.
glass window reflects illusions, the letters must be reversed in it,
but fortunately there are no reverse letters, maybe all are reversed in the lens...

Refering to this building at first I thought it was a shopping center. Despite it is a culture house the trade is well present too. The various advertisements confirm it. It must be interesting to know it inside. I repair the young peopleare attracted by the walls to be seated. The girl seated on the bench almost looks like a silhoutte model. The top of the picture needs some adjustment in my opinion.( I will give you news at the appropriate known process ). Warm regards. Tomi
