Photographer’s Note
After many months of deciding whether to post this photo or not finally I am posting it.
I have already posted a photo of this chicken a long time ago, but that photo was of rather a poor quality and taken in bad lighting conditions and with a different camera.
In this case the lighting conditions were better..
This chicken stands (or, rather, runs - where to?) in front of the Berzelii Park.
What or whom does this sculpture symbolize?
Who is the author?
I don't know... I have tried hard to find it out but I failed. Maybe some of you know?
:-)

Hi Elena,
Quite a surreal steel bird. I like the way the other foot is. And the neckless is a fun detail. But it seems to look away.
Generally I try to avoid scaffolding in the pictures. But maybe it's fine to show such every now and then rather than neglecting realism.

Hi Elena,
A fantastic sculpture, I have never heard of it before and I have no idea who made it. I see that you put both "Humorous" and "Artwork" as categories for this one, can´t really say which one is the most relevant...
Kind regards

Hi Elena,
at first sight I was thinking of an attack of Godzilla. I'm just wondering what this sculpture about: a bird, a T-Rex,...I don't know. Well framed and a good composition.
Cheers,
Edi

Hello Elena,
A funny bird sculpture of steel. A good control of light and pleasant natural colours. In spite of the scaffolding one can also admire the architectural details of the house on the right. TFS!
Warm regards,

Hej Elena,
I don`t know anything about this statue on Norrmalmstorg.
I have never thought of it before, perhaps it is fairly new ?
I think your photo is a good example of the daily life in Stockholm. People walking to or from work, shopping, sitting on a bench just for relax. I think the scaffolding is a important thing in this shot, it`s a part of a modern city.
(and scaffolding is my profession too :-))
Ha en trevlig dag !

Hi Elena,
This figure is amazing! the enormous dimensions! the shade projected in the building and thanks to the buildings we can see the proportions! good details! good light!
Warm regards from spain,

Hej Elena,
The statue is made by Ebba Hedqvist (1909-2001)and it is called "Laura" made of copper. She is presented at the National art galley with a sculpure in terracotta from 1950. How ever she is most known for her outdoor works as sculptures in parks and cities around Sweden.
Cheers!
/Stefan

Hello again my dear Elena
This is a hen ?! That is a quite unique statue, isn't it ? If possible I would like to see his face from the opposite side.
Congratulation on your unique but great job !

dear Elena,
metalic surface of this chicken matches back blue sky very well,
and back white building and right brown constructing house make joyful space for this chicken.
humorous and metaphorical chicken shows us fine artistic and satirical mind of the artist.
in the night, perhaps it is running around there, someone may see it...
thank you,
Akihisa

Hello Elena,
It's a bit funny to see the Laura hen from this perspective. I don't pass this place very often, but the statue certainly doesn't make the same impression when you're just passing by.
Technically, I have to say it's not among your best pp's. I made a ws where I tried to retrieve more details from the light and dark areas. Hope it's allright with you.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Elena,
I see you are a passionate traveller and a very good photographer. Can't help with the artist who created this sculpture but as a chicken the best thing to do is running away for sure. TFS & Keep on trekking!

Hello Elena, When I looked at the thumbnail I thought it looks like Skippy in Stockholm but no it is a big chicken with one leg pointing backward. Nice shot of this sculpture, yes I think it is some form of art & a little humorous. A good quality image with a little more contrast in the WS version also working very well.
Thank you
Regards
Santo

Hi Elena
The scene is abit too busy to have the chicken really stand out, in fact I prefer the vignette where it looked like a scene straight out of Godzilla !
Have a nice day JY

Hello Elena,
This is a really strange beast. It seems more like something one would see in places with less taste than Sweden. I mean it is a nice sculpture, but just odd. Nice capture. Next time can you get a front shot too? Just so we can truly appreciate this thing. Excellent post.
Sincerely,
Kate

Hello Elena
I was wondering if a lower POV could have been possible putting the running chicken against the blue sky. It's an interesting sculpture no doubt, which is being slightly 'hidden' because of the buildings in the BG. But a good idea to post for sure
Best regards
