Photographer’s Note
Finally the lakes are beginning to freeze and I can start indulging in one my favourite winter sports, cross country (or maybe cross lake) ice skating.
This picture was taken on lake Norrviken yesterday, premiere on skates for me this year. The ice was relly great over most of the lake as you can see, with only a thin layer of loose snow on top. Very few cracks and the ice was "singing" constantly with a djungel drum kind of sound, the way healthy ice should do.
The time here is quarter to three, winter days in Sweden are really dark as you can see.

A nice composition with the grass and tree to the left. The pepole also add to the general composition. The colour of the photo is very blue. I have noticed that this common when taking photos with snow. Did you try to run auto levels on the photo? Sometimes when i do that i decide that the blue cast actually is better. I think this is the case for this photo since the colour let you "see" how cold it is.
