Photographer’s Note
This is the station of my village
Gnesta — in the heart of rural Sörmland
Gnesta is a young municipality situated right in the centre of Södermanland. During the winter months, it is home to just over 10,000 people. In the summer, however, the population is much larger, since there are numerous second homes out in the lovely local countryside.
From Stockholm, a commuter train will get you to Gnesta in an hour, while the regional service takes little more than thirty minutes. There are excellent rail links with many of the bigger towns in Sweden. Linköping, for example, is only a two hours´ journey away, and a further hour will take you all the way to Gothenburg. Gnesta to Nyköping takes just over an hour, and you can get to Skavsta international airport in only 40 minutes.

Hej Anders,
The only thing that I miss here is the usual information about the altitude above sea level, I thought that was a common practise to include this on train station signs... A funny thing is that those three crowns look like a face, with one big crown above. But I like the very straight composition here with very attractive textures and patterns of the brick surface. Very good colours. Is Gnesta-Kalle still alive?

Hello Anders,
I like the symmetry, and the lovely red bricks in this shot. The crown design is interesting, and, as Gunnar already mentioned, the crowns inside the shield resemble a face. Nice details.

Hi Anders!
Excellent architectonic "detail" judging from the small part, that we see, this must be a beautiful train station in a beautiful village! Excellent tight framing, perfectly balanced composition, perfect light managment and colours! Great focus and definition! congratulations!
