Photographer’s Note
One of the numerous rune stones to be found in Sweden - traces of the past (around the 10th century). The text is often an ode to a hero. I am afraid I did not write what this text was. This stone was found in pieces and put back together again but there are many whole stones around the country which I will try to shoot another time...

Found some facts in the newspaper about runestones:
Most runestones were raised in the 11th or 12th century at the same time that christianism came to Sweden. There are several thousands runestones in the world and most of them are in Sweden

Interesting photo. I have seen several rune stones in the central part of Sweden. I think they could be a symbol of this country.
Nice shot, thanks for sharing.

Hi Rachel
Do not worry that you did not write what it was. Most probably it was something like: Sven son of Håkan, father of Ingvar. But the object is nice and I like the way you eliminated contrasts to make the whole stone well visible.

I have enjoyed surfing on websites, looking for runestones. So that's one more nice one in my collection.
