Photographer’s Note
For over 700 years Örebro Slott (castle pa Svenska) has kept a watchful eye on everyone crossing the bridge (Bro) over the river Svartеn. The oldest part of the castle, a defence tower (Torn), was erected in the second half of 13th century. Then the tower was added to in the 14th century to make a larger stronghold, and towards the end of the 16th century most of the impressive castle we see today was built.
Many important events in Swedish history took place here. For over two hundred years it has been the residence of the county governor. Now the building is open to the general public, art and music performances and exhibitions.
It's interesting the city name is translated as coin-bridge (Öre-bro). Probably there was a tax to cross the river by bridge here. Hope you enjoy the picture and thanks for critiques.
