My 1st sending for the summer Hunt: Repetitive patterns
Infos written with help from my guide-book:
English:It's in Nusnäs that you'll find the factories where the famous little Dalecarlian horse is made...
Hand carved from a single piece of wood and individually decorated in the rich traditional patterns of flowers and flourishes, which are based on very old forms of peasant 'kurbits' painting.
It was in the small log-cabins deep in the forests during the long winter nights in front of a log fire, that the forerunner of the Dala horse was born. Using simple tools, generally only a knife, toys were carved for the children. The fact that many horses were made was only natural, because the horse to them was invaluable. A trusty friend and worker who could pull great loads of timber from the forests during the winter months and in the summer could be of just as much use on the farm.

Welcome back from your Scandinavia trip, Viviane. This shot is really an eye catcher. It works like one of Escher drawings - you can't say which direction they go, and there are several different patterns at the sme image. Here there are at least two differnt patterns. THe butterflyes (or flowers) flow into the screen while the horses flow from left to right. Excellent shot.

I like this repetitive pattern, a good entry for the SH. I might have gone for a higher f-stop, but you would have needed a tripod. Great colours, well done.

Coming home you throw yourself headfirst into the Hunt, Viviane. I hope the rest of you trip was equally nice and stood up to your expectations. Well, Nusnäs is of course a must if visiting Dalecarlia and you show the multitude of horses at this place very well. Although hand carved and individually decorated it is an industry! Your image really fits into the Hunt's "Repetitive patterns" category, but also gives a good view of the simple design and intricate decoration of this beautiful little horse - the most Swedish of all tourist souvenirs. Welcome back and well done!
Thanks for cards and get-together - I'll send you an email later.

Surely a fine contribution to the Hunt Viviane - and a double as well - you got something orange :-)
A fine capture and nicely cropped - I like it.

Thats a good representation of the horse! Well composed with crossing lines of flowers and horsebacks. Living in Dalarna but not a native I must admit that I am quite fed up with these horses. Around here they are everywhere. You passed close on us, Nusnäs is about 90 km from here.

Merci.

This is a great repetitive pattern shot. The colours have been captured extremely well. Good DOF. What I like best are all those pointed ears. Well seen, Viviane.
Great note explaining about these horses. I have seen them at IKEA, and never knew the meaning of them. Thanks.

I'm back as you told. So, Hi everybody...
Nice idea to perform a close-up. You had the choice between using high or low DOF. I had chosen a large one you choose the small one. But the result is good. The colors help a lot I think.
Anyway, a nice shot... Seul le resultat compte...

Beautiful repetition of all that equally sized "Dalarna" horses.
I most have somewhere a picture with a repetition of unequally sizes horses. We bought them long time ago in More and Orsa.
