Photographer’s Note
My friend John´s old Volvo Krabat doesn´t feel like working in the cold anymore. It does some simpler jobs in summer but stand idle in the snowdrifts for the winter.
The Krabat was one of a serie of farm tractors made by Volvo in the fifties or so. Later Volvo bought the tractor company Bolinder-Munktell and tractors were built by them under the name Volvo BM. That company went into forstry and construction equipment and in the eighties the farming was dropped. During the last twenty years the business has grown by buying out other companies in the field and today Volvo is a mayor actor in construction equipment worldwide. Volvo cars are on the other hand more or less Fords. In the seventies we used to joke about the Volvo 140 and 240 by calling them "tractors". A bit of irony in that today.
The little label on the number plate is a proof that you have payed the vehicle tax, the liability insurance and had your vehicle to the annual safety inspection. Ok, tractors maybe not all of these.
But basically I was just out in the snow.

Great shot. Love the scenario you have created here through your title, and I love the sharpness and colours in the photo, great cropping also.

A delightful tightly framed and crystal clear capture Ebbe. This old tractor strikes a very strong pose in the snow. The contrast in colours (red-white) and shapes (industrial-organic) makes this shot. And thanx for telling the BM secret. Added to the Outdoortype theme.
Great job,
Have a nice weekend,
Bert

Wow Ebbe, that's a curiosity! Great shot with all the snow on the tractor, excellent how it's just snow around framing the picture. It sure looks like one of those number plates which you can buy, but for an old tractor...no I don't think so. A stroke of luck rather..

Chris

Beautiful still life, Ebbe.
It looks like this one is not going anywhere today. Love how the red and the snow complement each other. Very well seen. TFS.

What a controversial crop! I looks like waiting to attack. Good note. And funny plate, the price seems quite fair to me!
I also have a Volvo tractor waiting for an upload some day.

Good crop you did on that! It looks bored like an old lady in the snow blanket. :) But its "face" is not sad as it appears to me... ;) Good photo and note!

Bonsoir Ebbe
J'aime bien le contraste du rouge et du Blanc, la chaine sur le coté c'est pour ne pas qu'on le vole (rire).Et aussi de décentrage du sujet.

Hi Ebbe,
Nice shot and fun note! The off-center, slight tilt, and crop are great!

Hello ebbe. Its everything is mobile. Belongs to cars and other technical equipment to our life. And one with these devices to do the more intensively has, the more gets her human characteristics. The picture of the in-snowed Volvo pleases me very well. Likewise the beautiful text. Many greetings, Wolfgang.
