Photographer’s Note
It is an oldie: the photo was scanned from a colour negative film, and the shot was taken with an old rather simple film Samsung camera which had absolutely automatic settings. I could not control either exposure or zoom.
So, I guess, you can judge only the composition or perspective, and surely not the exposure settings.
The PP work was: noise removal; some levels adjustment.
I decided to post this photo because there are very few photos of Falun on TE, and most of them do not show the town as it is (and it is very beautiful, as far as I can remember).
During my visit it either drizzled or rained all the time, and there were maybe only a couple of days when it did not drizzle. On such a day we went to see the famous Falun Copper mine. And as far as I remember this photo was taken on the way to the Copper mine.
I can even say the name of the street: it is Hyttgatan, 66 :) Fortunately the name of the street happened to be captured by the camera, too (it was on the left in the photo but I cropped about 2 cm, there was a disturbing road sign there).
I don't know what sort of building is in the FG, on the right, but maybe it is a fire station...
As for the church in the distance, in the BG, it is the Renaissance-style Kristine Church (1642–60; restored 1904–05).
You can see another photo of Kristine Church in Wikipedia.
Falun is the administrative center of the Dalarna province in Sweden. It's the most populous town in the area with over 55,000 inhabitants.
Falun was built around the old copper mine, which was operational as early as the 11th century. The mine was an important resource during the years of the Swedish Empire and made Falun Sweden's second largest city around mid-17th century.
Falun has made some contributions to the Swedish heritage as well. Prime examples, and memories of the mining, are Falu Red Paint (Falu rödfärg) and the Falu Sausage (Falukorv). The red color of the copper was used to make a brownish red paint that has become hugely popular in Sweden.

Hello Elena,
Although this photo isn't that very old, the scanned colours give it a feeling of the 1950's (except for the cars, of course). Quite nostalgic. Having just returned from India I am amazed by the emptiness. I haven't been to Falun for almost 50 years (!) but vaguely remember it as a nice and pretty city. You have captured the prettiness very well.
Best regards,
Gert

Hej Elena,
This must be a very typical photo of almost any small town in Sweden; empty streets! But the inclusion of the two churches here make this view a bit better. The low falured-painted house along the street is also very nice. And you are right, there are just a few photos from Falun here on TE, infact far less than there are from Koppom...
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hello Elena,
It is very good photo, nice clean lines with good colours. You have done a good job of scanning, it is not really so old, but yes digital is better.
I would like to see your original in a workshop.
Some (not you) clone out things, for myself then it is not a true photo. I crop out some bits, but not clone.
Regards
Robert

Hi Elena,
Me gusta los colores vivos de esas fachadas, un dia oscuro pero luz en las calles, un punto de vista cotidiano! Bien visto!
Un saludo

dear Elena,
maybe these three towers have been watching the changing outward of this small village for long time,
I really think that old buildings have long life, but modern houses are not,
in Japan, this phenomenon is quite same as other countries.
when Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995.1.17, very old buildings were safe but relatively modern houses were almost broken.
anyway, a common view there is interesting, it is a nice record.
thank you,
Akihisa

Hi Elena.
Nice picture! I like the depth and the colours in the picture. The only pity is that is scanned and is a little bit lack of quality but that's not important.
Well done!

Hello again my dear Omer
It is a pity for not clear color due to the scanning but composition is nice and maybe color composition should be vivid, I guess.
Best regards and thanks for my sharing

Hej elena
You have certain desolated expression on this image from Dalarna the colors are similiar to old positive color film from 60's Kind like aone of this old postcards you can find now and then on fleamarkets and second hand book shops.

Hello Elena
I feel all alone looking at this image - where have all the people gone? It also has a washed-out feeling but not a bad scan. Thanks for posting, Marlene

Bonjour Fanni!
Bien amicalement.
Marie Louise.
