Photographer’s Note

26th of September came with no wind at all. The lake laid flat as a mirror and the sky was deep autumn blue. Of course I had to get out there. I stayed out there for six hours and to tell the truth - the sea was not completely smooth all the time, there were some ripples for ten minutes or so.... Now winter is approaching and all we can do is dream of another summer....

The sea was smooth as a mirror but I took this picture when the swell of a passing motorboat was meeting me. The trees of an island reflects on the waves.

I would crop a bit more off the top to get rid of extraneous colour, but WOW another fantastic canoe abstract!!! Such a smooth, silky shot! Well done man!

It is great this splendid composition. Blue with a touch of red on a strong point. It is an image which deserves to win in a photographer exposition.

Yeah ! That's something you can call "colors" ! I've tried a workshop, cropping the top (as others have said too) to bring it even more abstract. But anyway, I'm completely seduced ! Thanks Ebbe !

Perfect timing to capture a most magnificent scene Ebbe! The textures are magical and the bright red in the bottom is a brilliant addition. Looks somewhat like a pop-art creation...

Quite a prefect surface for this wave, like your picture. The reflection of the trees are good to remember that it the nature, not an artificail effect.

Ebbe, from the thumbnail I already recognized your canoe (or kayak). the water is SOOO very smooth and invitive, but that's probably because we only see a very small part of it.
The crop is excellent!

This is just wonderful, Ebbe, I'm beginning to like your inclusion of the kajak's bow. And in this image the color combination is unbeatable. There's a nice graphic touch to this image as well, although you could have gone further (as suggested in the WS). But I understand your hesitation and I wouldn't say one is better than the other. This one has a nice connection to reality in the reflections in those impressively soft waves - and maybe that's needed. Sharpness and composition is spot on as usual. Very well done!

It's only natural that someone working with the construction of bridges spends his free time enjoying the open water... ;o)

The swedish simplicity and the clean compositions we like in both art and design, you master perfectly.
The composition is superb and the colours aswell.
The soft surface and the lines of the small waves... Just beautiful...

I'm not so keen on writing critiques of photos that already have a lot of points but I have to show my appreciation of this one.
Just seeing in the first place that this was a good photo shows a great sensibility to the world and how it appears for us, light, shapes, colour, rhythm, surface (and depth).
This is right up there with you ice shots from last winter. Fresh, imaginative and true, no cliché just seeing and sensing the world.

The colours stand out and grab your attention. The red of the boat with pin-sharp focus against the so smooth blue. I wasn't sure about the different water at the top and have done a workshop.
