End of season Photo

Photographer’s Note

We had our first snow this week and the winter chill is here. As the sunday weather was sunny and nice I decided on one last trip with the kayak. A lovely trip with barely no wind and a high clear sky. I was out there for five hours and came back a better person.

In the late afternoon I went through some early ice so thin you could not see it until it breaks. The bow made a low hushing sound going through it. The last half hour I was accompanied by the moon over a mirror flat lake. When I got back to the car a thin layer of ice covered the hull of the kayak.

Took the picture belly flat on the icy jetty.

Hi Ebbe, excellent shot! the full moon and the reflections on the lake are perfectly captured. the exposure was excellent as the quality of light and colours.

I like your moon composition I prefer to see this view because I have some horrible buildings in front to my window.
I note here a very good control of the exposure.

Stunning picture. The exposure is superb, very well balanced. Nice subdued colours of the boat and frost. Also very well composed and framed. Beautiful work of very pleasing atmosphere.

Hi Ebbe. Worth going down belly-flat for this one, you got a fine result where the framing is cool with the tip of the hoarfrost-coated kayak pointing at the moon. The blue tonality emphasizes the cool and fresh seasonal mood, and needless to say that the moon and its reflection(s) are well included. Nice one.

WOW the clarity and sharpness even at night, how did you do that! your pictures have beautiful composition i looked at most of them. great colors too

I can only say wow !!!
The sharpness of the kayak is exellent, perfect .........
And the contrast is also lovley, the full moon is just
in the right position for this shot.
