Photographer’s Note

Tha last days of April, spring is here for good but where is the lake? The ice left for good just a week earlier and I had to get out there.

The story is that the lake, Runn, is part of a hydropower reservoir.During the winter the hydro power plants use as much water as they can but the natural circulation of water is stopped as the water is stored as snow. So when the spring comes the waterlevels are at a minimum. This lake is quite shallow with many rocks and boulders sticking up in surprising places even at normal water levels. Now as the level is almost 3 m below normal it is a good education to paddle around and get explainations to all the collisions with the bottom I have had before.

The trees on left and right here are usually on two separate islands but at this visit is no problem to walk between them.

Strangely enough the name of these islands are Stensöarna (Stone Islands).
