Photographer’s Note

On the first Sunday of Advent it is very common to have a Christmas market in the Swedish towns. In most towns this has a lot to do with christmas but some towns miss that part. In Borlänge for instance, this market is like any other market. Just a bunch of street vendors selling cheap clothes, cheap candy or fake Rolexes. The latter with a cardboard sign stating that it is "Real copies". For the kids the local low budget fun fare is brought in. I happened to pass through the city centre while there was some daylight left and before the customers arrived and caught this girl managing the stand where you can win stuffed pets by knocking down cans. She seemed a bit bored doing nothing in -5 C.

Great colours, well framed, well documented. I wonder if the girl in the picture shares such a dim view of the low-brow nature of her particular Christmas market!

This is a good shot. Full of colors, nice and sharp. Certainly, she seems quite immune to all the colors around her.

I like the color composition. the note is very useful it really helped me undestand the sign and tehs stuff around....rgds

Very nicely spotted but...
Even though the upper horizontal layer of your image adds more interest and color, it is not consistent in both brightness and rythm with the lower half : I think the pic would be better by cropping it out right above that horizontal red line, keeping the whole like a pano format.

(trying to get a hand on these forgotten design genes...)

So well composed whith the levels of lines and colors, a very nice composition, "dynamique" throught the colors, the position of the girl is very studied and the result is great.

a shot full humor and the colors are great a smoking sigaret and or steaming cup of hot soup and this would be and advertisment photograph...

But, after taking this shot, did you volunteer to try to knock down some of hers cans? At least, it would have given her something to do and I'm sure that the warmth of your smile would have made her forget her dull and boring afternoon... Think also of the splendid prize you would have won! ;-)
I really like the way her gloved hands echo the soft cloth balls behind her. I think it cound'nt be better if you had staged it...

you really mastered making a really interesting scene out of an everyday scene!

A perfect composition, Ebbe, and a shot filled with warm sympathy and humor. Although the temperature and the activities are low, the colors in your shot are providing a warm atmosphere. She doesn't seem to be too cold, but bored, reading her paper. My only objection is the sign, which I think is stealing too much attention, but OK - I'll accept that. Very well done!
