Photographer’s Note
Photo taken in Sorfors, northern Sweden. I was near a dam and I think it's called Norrforsen.
Should have tilted the camera down to get more of the flowing water in the shot, but unfortunately I can't do anytyhing about that now.

Hej Sara,
Fine colours and fine water. There's a nice curve across the picture from the rocks, the nearest trees and also the trees in the background. It looks like a rather lonely place and maybe it is. I guess Norrforsen is not a very urbanized area.
Good luck with your journey down under, where you will be able to take a quite different kind of pictures.
Hälsningar,

Hi again,
This scenery is so peaceful, and the colors very subtle. The amount of water freezing effect obtained with the slow shutter works great here. As for the composition, I agree with you, it could show more of the beautiful waterfall, maybe also offsetting the upper trees a little to one side or the other, so they wouldn’t look too centered (it works this way too, since the forest line makes a fine pyramidal shape). To capture more light in the foreground, maybe you could do some bracketing, combining the exposures in photoshop. It’s a very good idea to shoot in raw, because many times, all you have to do is get a well exposed photo and render different tiffs into photoshop, one for the sky, pushing the exposure slide to the left side, and one for the foreground, the other way around. There are several ways to blend each exposure into one file in photoshop, and it’s easy to find it in the web (I usually do it manually, masking layers). If you go for hdr, it’s always reasonable to keep the natural look to landscapes. Here is a tutorial you can find helpful in that way:
