Photographer’s Note
This shot was taken in Kiruna (above the arctic circle) on New Year's Eve. It was 2:43 pm!
Kiruna is a mining town so hundreds of carriages arrive and leave every day. It's a very important thing for the town since nearly everybody has someone in his family working there.
The diggind has weakened the ground so the whole town is going to be moved in the next years!

Francois,
wonderful color tones .. not something I often say about a winter landscape .. beautiful even with all of the industrial activity .. perhaps because of it .. and even with all the business of your shot you still have not lost the vast emptiness of the place.
welcome to te.
take care,
John

salut François,
merci pour cette découverte, les images du pôle sont assez rares. J'aime bien ton cadrage de fuite avec cette diagonale formée par la voie. Les couleurs rendent vraiment bien également.
Merci

Hello Francois,
I always enjoy photos like this one right before it gets dark. The snow contributes nicely to the color. I wish there was more of the town in the picture.
Best wishes,

Hi Francois,
Welcome to TE!
Fascinating winter scene from Swedish Lapland. Sky and lamp lights work well together. But I think you were too far from the train. You should go closer to better tie it to the important part of the scene.
