Vallsundet Bridge Photo

Photographer’s Note

The bridge over Vallsundet in northern Sweden. This bridge connects the island Frösön, where I grew up, with the south mainland. It is fairly new and before it was built was a ferry connection about two kilometers to my right. The bridge is clearly visible from most of the town Östersund so a lot of thoughts were spent on its appearance. I think it came out pretty good but I am not too fond of the triangular mid supports made of steel tubes. These are hardly visible here under the highest point of the bridge.

The edge beam could have been made straighter, the formwork for the slab seems to have deformed quite a lot when concreting.

Very beautiful curve in the end of the bridge, Ebbe, good perspective, very nice sharp, the two people left, is lovely detail. Well seen!

A nicely composed photo where every angle is spot-on, and the blue water reflects the soft blue of the sky. And you still managed to get some people in as well!

Great capture Ebbe - Wonderful clear colors and very good composition following the bridge until the next bank (though on first look it seems like it sinks in the water...). including those two people there are a brilliant idea - the are great for color, perspective and vividness.

This could easily have been a very sterile image of an engineering construction, Ebbe. And the angle chosen could have been just to show the deformation of the edge beam. But the inclusion of people and the tree in the corner definitely makes it more vivid and human - and thus the impression of the bridge is brought forward. Well done!

everytime when I see a bridge, I think about you, Ebbe.
You captured a very interesting perspective view on that bridge, with the elegant bend on the far end and the couple at the left corner.

Nicely composed view of the bridge. The perspective is great. And it captures the deformed shape very well. Your time of day for this shot was excellent, also. It gives it a very warm feel as do the two people in the scene. It softens this bridge to a very human level. Nicely done.

Nice composition Ebbe! The bridge offers a excellent perspective. I like the way the bridge leads our eyes to the other side of the river. Good idea to include the people on the left in your picture!

aaah, så många gånger jag har åkt över denna bro!
vacker komposition och givetvis väldigt trevligt att du fick med de där personerna också...

Håller med om att det blev bra med bron, den är faktiskt inte helt tokig. Särskilt med tanke på att alternativet tidigare var färja, vilket inte var så särskilt skoj.
