Man-made rapid Photo

Photographer’s Note

This photo is taken at the same place at at the river Ljusnan as the photos I posted yesterday and the day before yesterday. The rapid here is not natural. It has been burst by farmers in the 1890s that built a sawmill here. The sawmill was pulled down in the 1950s. If the cottage had something to do with the saw mill I do not know. It quite obivious that it is a privately owned cottage today.

un endroit qui a l'air retiré du monde, une maison solitaire mais située à un endroit qui fait rêver, du moins quand il fait beau.
Dommage pour ce ciel un peu blanc.
Excellent cadrage et couleurs très séduisantes.

How Swedish this view is! Quite a typical Swedish cottage, water surrounded by forests... In any case I truly enjoy such views, maybe because I've stayed myself in similar places in Sweden so many times...
Thanks for sharing this pic with us, it's quite sad to see leaves turn yellow already(not just in Sweden of course), the winter is very close... :o/

Beatiful place to have a cottage, great multi layered photo I like the way there is a here scene with the cottage and a faraway scene behind with the distant forest. Great colours.

Hej Ulf,
wonderfull scenery! would be nice to relax there :) the colors and the contrast are great. i don't know if it is sharpening or resizing or what it is, but some details got lost in the trees in the back. did you use resample or resize?

Hi Ulf,
I was in Sweden several times. Recently in Scania. I lived in such charming little house, painted in red colour. Everywhere around were a lot of coniferous trees. Splendid neighbourhood.
Your picture is so beautiful, as my remembrances.

There is such a fine autumn atmosphere in this scenery!
Wonderful colours and the image is well composed with the cabin as a natural eye-catcher arcroo the stream...
