Photographer’s Note

This picture is taken close to the former fishing village of Hölick in the province of Hälsingland. This village is situated by the Baltic Sea in a peninsula called Hornslandet.

Hej Ulf ,
That little boat is in the right position here, very well balanced between the left margin and the house. The dry grass give a very fine colour in harmony with the light blue background! A picture of a warm and dry summer day!

Lonelyness but too peacefull and serenity and especialy a superb sea's landscape. The colours in the FG are superb. Good balalnce in the composition too with the little boat well located in the image.

I remember these warm summer days in Sweden with plenty of sunlight and a very large contrast in the object in front and the overexposure of the horizon. Really a day to wear sunglasses.

Hej Ulf,
I would call it a "typically Scandinavian" landscape! I like the composition: the sold rocks in the FG, with a house standing (hopefully, firmly) on the rock; with a tree growing on the rock beside... and a tiny fragile boat with sails. I like the mood of solitude and tranquility.
The BG (the water and the sky) seem to me a bit overexposed, as compared to the FG.. but on the whole, it's a very nice view!

Hello Ulf,

Exactly or there come here never one people, a solitary place.
It long grass and rocks to both sides makes these picture very nice.
Perspective and depth are perfect.

Nice scene, with the wooden house on near the sea, the rocks, the yellow dried grass, the blue water and the distant lonely boat.It seems a peaceful place, so far from the busy cities and the modern life...

A vey interesting foreground in backlights.
Of course there is a big difference of exposure with the sky, that's why he is milky.
In that case it's possible to use a grad filter even in PP.
That's why I have done a WS.
